Let me tell you a few things you need to know about FOOD
Food is fuel
Food gives us energy
Food affects how you feel physically and mentally
Food affects the body from the inside out
Food should not be seen as the devil
Food should not be restricted
Our brain needs food
Our body needs food
What food we eat matters
How much food we eat matters
Look after your body for health, not for disease
Fuel your body for health, not for deprivation
Find a balance within health with no guilt
What you eat effects how you feel. Eat good food and you’ll have more energy, you’ll have better workouts, you’ll sleep better and your brain will function more efficiently.
Eating the right amount of food is also key. If you’re looking to lose weight then yes it’s all about energy in vs energy out, but the way forward is not to restrict your body so much that you end up binging a few days later, feel guilty then start a rollercoaster. On the other hand there’s also no need for giant portion sizes no matter how healthy the food may be.
Food is not the devil making you gain weight. It’s simply your choices. What you buy in the shop, what you keep in your cupboards, how big your portion sizes are and what you consume.
As a health and fitness professional I want to inspire people to lead a healthy lifestyle and prove how easy it can be, away from all the FAD diets and trends. I focus on real health and real food.
Start by making small changes to your diet and lifestyle. Start eating real food, start cooking from scratch and shift your focus from numbers to colours, nutrients, vitamins and seeing food as fuel that we need to be the best versions of ourselves. We need to nourish our body, look after it and give it what it needs. A little education and awareness goes a long way.
